It’s hard to capture the scale of these candlelit protests that have been happening outside my hotel window in Seoul. I’ve had great fun observing both from a distance and up close on the streets. They happen every Saturday, presently. At their peak, they’ve had an attendance over one million. International reports will probably suggest a revolutionary atmosphere, but it’s more like a festival.
